You may have heard the saying "It takes a village to raise a child". The same is true for youth ministry - "it takes a parish community to raise a saint." Gone are the days of just having a youth group meeting on a Sunday night. Effective youth ministry demands more. Renewing the Vision, a USCCB document, provides a framework for a comprehensive approach to youth ministry that integrates young people into the whole parish and is inclusive of all members and ministries of the community. Let's come together as a parish community and raise young saints together.

One of the greatest challenges the Church faces with her young people is how to keep them active in their faith after receiving Confirmation. In this workshop we will explore possible ways of developing relationship with the church that gives the sacrament its purpose and meaning; introducing recipients to a new beginning in their faith life, not a graduation from it.
Celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation is a parish building experience but how do we accomplish this? While the divide the between Faith Formation sacrament preparation and school sacrament preparation can seem insurmountable, it can be done. Ms. Westlake and Ms. Torres have teamed up to work on bridging this gap to ensure that all candidates know they have a place in the parish.
The beauty of God's work in creation opens our hearts. We will explore what Laudato Si' (available free at the Vatican website) is all about, what myths it debunks and what convictions and attitudes it calls our parish members to. We will also review some ways parishes have effectively shared these convictions and attitudes and find resources which can help us shape our parish efforts.
